Carver Select Board Creates Economic Development Committee, Approves Habitat Veteran Housing Restriction

CARVER — August 5, 2025 — Carver Select Board unanimously creates ad hoc economic development committee and advances veteran affordable housing project. The board voted 5-0 Tuesday to establish the committee, which will work with regional planning agency CERPED to produce a town-wide commercial development plan that will dissolve upon completion; the board amended the committee's charge to specify "commercial build-out" and voted to retain all appointment authority itself rather than ceding it to the town administrator. Jim Hoffman was appointed Select Board representative on a 3-1 vote with one recusal, citing his decade on the Planning Board.
