Select Board · Meeting of August 4, 2026
Carver Select Board approved a conflict waiver letting KP Law represent both Carver and Middleborough on a new water-supply deal. The vote, 5-0, follows the state's July 31 dissolution of the North Carver Water District, which now leaves Carver's Select Board serving as the town's water commission. Town Administrator Glenn Cannon said the town "has been subsidizing the North Carver Water District for 20 years" and reported a snow-removal deficit "in excess of $400,000." The board also voted 5-0 on four separate licenses for King Richard's Faire, covering Renaissance Foods LLC and King's Faire LLC, and 5-0 to appoint Eric Kinsherf as temporary town accountant effective September 9.
Members split over a proposed goal to raise the town's commercial tax base 10 percent, with Sarah Hewins saying "our job is policy," not business recruitment.
