CARVER — The Carver Redevelopment Authority voted unanimously to hire Attorney Robert Galvin of Duxbury as its new legal counsel, replacing retiring counsel Kathleen O'Donnell. Chair Joanna Layton and Vice Chair Savory Moore questioned Galvin on his land use background before the open-ended appointment passed by voice vote. The board also approved its Treasurer's Report showing $588.02 in checking, $47,573.36 in money market funds and $1,281.06 in the urban renewal account.

Members discussed a stalled lawsuit over hill removal at the Green Business Park's 730 Route 44 site, still awaiting a court ruling since January, and reported the North Carver Water District signed a $50,000 engineering contract with Tater and Howard before its dissolution. The board also moved to resolve $3,750 in unclaimed Schertler family funds, split between two heirs at $1,875 each, and shifted its next meeting to September 15.
