Carver COA Board Sets Five-Stop Senior Outreach Schedule for 2026

CARVER — November 20, 2025 — Carver's Council on Aging board approved a five-stop senior housing outreach schedule for 2026 and voted unanimously to open future meetings with a nondenominational prayer. Chair Helen Maroney, who said she first championed the prayer practice on the Carver Board of Selectmen roughly 15 years ago, led the unanimous vote, noting a community prayer written by the late Reverend Merritt is already available to the board. The 2026 meet-and-greet calendar — South Meadow Village in February, Waterview Village in April, the town gazebo in June, Meadow Woods in September, and Cranberry Village in October — was approved with board members Kathy and Damon named to a planning committee alongside outreach coordinator Alice. COA Director Connie reported that senior registrations have reached 706, a 77 percent increase over the prior year, and that 363 unduplicated seniors attended COA programming in 2025.
