Carver COA Board Sets Five-Stop Senior Outreach Schedule for 2026

CARVER -- November 20, 2025, Carver's Council on Aging board approved a five-stop senior housing outreach schedule for 2026 and voted unanimously to open future meetings with a nondenominational prayer. Chair Helen Maroney, who said she first championed the prayer practice on the Carver Board of Selectmen roughly 15 years ago, led the unanimous vote, noting a community prayer written by the late Reverend Merritt is already available to the board. The 2026 meet-and-greet calendar, South Meadow Village in February, Waterview Village in April, the town gazebo in June, Meadow Woods in September, and Cranberry Village in October, was approved with board members Kathy and Damon named to a planning committee alongside outreach coordinator Alice. COA Director Connie reported that senior registrations have reached 706, a 77 percent increase over the prior year, and that 363 unduplicated seniors attended COA programming in 2025.
