Carver COA Approves Minutes, Plans Village Outreach Push for Spring 2026

CARVER — January 22, 2026 — Carver's Council on Aging reports an 82 percent jump in unduplicated seniors served in 2025, and shifts its village outreach strategy. The board met January 22, approving minutes from its October 23 and November 20, 2025 meetings. Director Kathy reported that 375 unique seniors used the COA in 2025, up from 206 the prior year, with total MySeniorCenter registrations reaching 710, a 41 percent increase, and GATRA transportation trips hitting 9,448 for the year. The board endorsed a new approach for reaching South Meadow Village — attending the community's existing first-Wednesday monthly association meetings rather than hosting a standalone event — after Activities Coordinator Alice relayed a resident's advice that the association draws 20 to 50 people from among the village's 521 homes. "It's not us coming in cold turkey for an hour to talk to them, but meet them at their point of their meetings," Alice said. The COA is targeting March for its first South Meadow Village appearance.
