The Carver Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a special permit for a 1,410-square-foot detached garage at 243 Meadow Street.
Zoning Board · Meeting of August 4, 2026
CARVER — The Carver Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a special permit for a 1,410-square-foot detached garage at 243 Meadow Street. Chair Stephen G. Gray and members Mark Poirier, James Barrington and Anita Doll attached seven conditions, including a height cap on a decorative cupola and a ban on indoor plumbing and residential use.
Gray said the town's 700-square-foot as-of-right garage limit "is unrealistically low in this day and age." The board also previewed fiscal year 2027 state budget amendments loosening local housing regulation, distributing a KP Law summary with no vote required. Members set their next meeting for Thursday, September 3, to take up a new case requiring public notice, noting August scheduling was not an option.
