Finance Committee OKs $33,650 Landfill Transfer
Carver Finance Committee approved a $33,650 reserve fund transfer to cover new state-mandated PFAS testing at the North Carver Landfill.
Finance Committee · Meeting of August 24, 2026
Carver Finance Committee approved a $33,650 reserve fund transfer to cover new state-mandated PFAS testing at the North Carver Landfill. The panel, chaired by Patrick Meagher, voted unanimously to move the funds from its reserve fund into the landfill and engineering budget, raising that line from $75,000 to $108,650 to cover an amended contract with Langdon Environmental LLC. A town official identified as Glenn told the committee the state Department of Environmental Protection "just kind of came in and said you have to have" the testing.
The committee also voted 4-0 to grant Carver Youth Football $5,000 for new equipment after president Rob Leventry said rodents had destroyed much of the program's gear. The meeting doubled as a farewell for the town's outgoing finance director, who reported the fiscal 2024 audit remains unfinished and that the town overspent its snow and ice budget by more than $500,000 this past winter.
