Carver Planning Board Endorses Cranberry Road Lots, Continues Solar Hearing to January

CARVER — December 9, 2025 — Carver Planning Board approves oddly shaped Cranberry Road subdivision and continues solar hearing. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to endorse an Approval Not Required plan dividing Map 10, Lot 10 on Cranberry Road into three new residential lots, with the remaining land portion formally designated not a buildable lot due to insufficient information about bog setbacks and wetland compliance. Chair Kevin Robinson called the interlocking lot configurations "a ridiculous breakup in order to meet the requirements," while engineer Tom Morris of Zenith Consulting Engineers said the tight lots would yield modest, more affordable homes. The board also voted unanimously to continue a special permit and site plan review hearing for William Street Solar 2 LLC — a large-scale ground-mounted solar and battery storage project off William Street — to January 13, 2026. Newly introduced Interim Town Planner Valerie Massard told the board she had already coordinated a technical assistance grant application to Mass Housing Partnership to continue the town's MBTA Communities zoning bylaw work with the Barrett Planning Group, with a submission expected the following day.
